Women’s March on Washington

Will we be performing “I Am A Woman” and “Vote (The Trump Rewrite)” from the stage at the Women’s March on Washington?

You can make it happen!

Let the organizers know you want this grassroots, activist music to be heard that day by sharing our songs on your post on the Women’s March on Washington’s Facebook page and asking them to have us perform on Jan 21!

We’re excited to be singing at what will surely be a powerful service, with Terry O’Neill, President of the National Organization for Women!

Services at 9 & 11 AM. All are welcome

“Where We Are Now and What To Do Moving Forward”
Terry O’Neill, President, NOW
The result of the 2016 presidential election poses a real threat to the rights and well-being of women. Moving forward, the National Organization for Women urges social justice and women’s rights activists to direct and amplify their activism to ensure that reproductive healthcare and abortion rights are protected, to end voter suppression and prioritize voting rights as a feminist issue, and to vehemently protect the Affordable Care Act.

Join us for the Third International Convocation of Unitarian Universalist Women and People of Progressive Faith!

We’ll be performing a Saturday night concert with our full band, plus leading a workshop and performing at the Opening Ceremony and Sunday Service.

bell hooks will be speaking at the conference! “Writer, professor, feminist theorist, and activist, Dr. bell hooks is the author of numerous critically acclaimed and widely influential books on the function of race, gender, class, and culture. Her most well-known works, such as Ain’t I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism (1981) and Feminist Theory from Margin to Center (1984) focus on issues surrounding the invisibility of black women from common discourses of racism and gender. Feminism Is For Everybody: Passionate Politics (2000) details her beliefs concerning the significance of feminist values in everyone’s lives – women and men alike.”

We performed at the First Convocation in Texas, 8 years ago, and are thrilled to be coming back!

The theme of the Convocation is Weaving Global Partnerships…Forging a Just Future Together. The Convocation will offer community and connection, information and inspiration, as well as motivation and momentum that lead to action and change.
