Women’s March to Ban the Bomb
March and Rally

12 noon – 4 pm
Beginning at Bryant Park and ending at Dag Hamarskjold Plaza near the United Nations

We’ll be performing at this historic event to ban the bomb!

NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE ABOUT TO BE BANNED AND WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

In one of its final acts of 2016, the United Nations General Assembly adopted with overwhelming support a landmark resolution to begin negotiations on a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons. This historic decision heralds an end to two decades of paralysis in multilateral nuclear disarmament efforts.

Throughout June and July of 2017, governments will negotiate a ban on nuclear weapons at the United Nations. Our coalition are hitting the streets to celebrate and also demand a good treaty that prohibits these weapons of mass destruction once and for all!

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative building on the momentum of movements at the forefront of the resistance, including the Women’s March on Washington. It will bring together people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, nationalities, cultures, faiths, political affiliations and backgrounds. The march and rally will take place from 12 noon – 4 pm on Saturday, June 17 in New York City, beginning at Bryant Park and ending at Dag Hamarskjold Plaza near the United Nations. Sister marches are being planned in cities around the world.”

Annual Vigil — At the Border!

Our 17th year at the Vigil and Nonviolent Direct Action to close the SOA/WHINSEC . . . and, for the second year, at the US/Mexico border!

“We are moving our annual convergence this Fall from the gates of Fort Benning, Georgia to the militarized US/Mexico border. . . The change of the location goes along with the broadening of the issue and our expanded fight against U.S. militarization at home and abroad. The convergence is taking place right before the November election.” To generate the biggest possible impact, we need to build a strong coalition of groups to make the convergence a success. We hope that you would consider to mobilize your community the Border Convergence.”
