“Where We Are Now and What To Do Moving Forward”
Terry O’Neill, President, NOW
The result of the 2016 presidential election poses a real threat to the rights and well-being of women. Moving forward, the National Organization for Women urges social justice and women’s rights activists to direct and amplify their activism to ensure that reproductive healthcare and abortion rights are protected, to end voter suppression and prioritize voting rights as a feminist issue, and to vehemently protect the Affordable Care Act.

Women’s March to Ban the Bomb
March and Rally

12 noon – 4 pm
Beginning at Bryant Park and ending at Dag Hamarskjold Plaza near the United Nations

We’ll be performing at this historic event to ban the bomb!

NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE ABOUT TO BE BANNED AND WE NEED YOUR VOICE!

In one of its final acts of 2016, the United Nations General Assembly adopted with overwhelming support a landmark resolution to begin negotiations on a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons. This historic decision heralds an end to two decades of paralysis in multilateral nuclear disarmament efforts.

Throughout June and July of 2017, governments will negotiate a ban on nuclear weapons at the United Nations. Our coalition are hitting the streets to celebrate and also demand a good treaty that prohibits these weapons of mass destruction once and for all!

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative building on the momentum of movements at the forefront of the resistance, including the Women’s March on Washington. It will bring together people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, nationalities, cultures, faiths, political affiliations and backgrounds. The march and rally will take place from 12 noon – 4 pm on Saturday, June 17 in New York City, beginning at Bryant Park and ending at Dag Hamarskjold Plaza near the United Nations. Sister marches are being planned in cities around the world.”
